The Two Poplars in Wokingham, a traditional British pub, manages to meet the modern needs of its customers.

With an olde worlde exterior, but comfortable and contemporary inside, this gem of a pub manages to achieve the perfect balance between relaxation and entertainment.

Proprietors Gordon and Vivienne Stevens do not shy away from organising events, with weekly quiz nights on Thursdays and 'Gordioke' (Gordon hosts the popular karaoke nights on Saturdays), as well as monthly theme evenings and as many sport screenings as even the most avid rugby or football fan could ask for. This sociable pub offers big screen TVs on which the World Cup 2006 is sure to feature.

The 'Greene King Knife and Fork Menu' offer diners huge variety with something to suit everybody. With the chef's daily specials, traditional dishes such Cumberland sausage and mash, steak and ale pie and cod and chips, and alternatives including baguettes, wraps, burgers, curries, rustic roasts and even a selection of tempting house tapas, making a decision is a challenge in itself. After much deliberation I went for baked salmon fillet drizzled with sun-dried tomato butter and served with rustic potato wedges and a fresh mixed salad, and thoroughly enjoyed it. After a naughty but satisfying sticky toffee apple crumble with creamy custard, I sat back with another pint of the guest ale and relaxed. Outside, during the warm summer months, you can enjoy a cooling pint or satisfying meal in the large beer garden.

If you are celebrating something special, Gordon and Vivienne are only too happy to cater for your event at The Two Poplars.
