A privately owned hotel, Romans Country House sits nestled in the historic village of Silchester. The house, built in the style of Lutyens, has been sympathetically converted to offer guests the best in modern facilities while retaining the atmosphere and period detail of an Edwardian country residence - The Romans Country House is the ideal setting for a delightful evening.

The award-winning head chef Kevin Griffiths has personally crafted his own exquisite à la carte menu using the very best locally produced ingredients, his daily menu is moulded in accordance to the seasonal variations. An example of his culinary expertise is his exquisite roasted halibut with Cornish sea scallops delicately placed on saffron mash drizzled with asparagus bouillon, which leaves most guests eager to try his specialist desserts.

The beautiful panelled Oak Room restaurant boasts a number of awards that have been presented for the high standards of cuisine. The restaurant also offers an extensive choice of wines from around the world to complement your meal.

The oak panelled room has recently been refurbished to a very high standard, so you can relax in the surroundings of this elegant manor house, while enjoying all its modern comforts. Adjacent to the Oak Room is the Berkshire suite, which is ideal for hosting private dining parties of up to 25 people for a sit down meal. The Berkshire has private access out onto the hotel's terrace, which overlooks the beautiful mature gardens. The bar offers an extensive range of whiskeys and any drinks to suit your fancy.

This hotel also offers guests a fully-equipped health club with gym, heated pool, sauna, spa and tennis courts. It is ideally situated for many local attractions and major cities. For a meal to remember, I recommend you book a table at The Romans Country House Hotel as soon as possible.
