Just two minutes from junction 11 off the M4, this lively venue is one huge dance floor dotted with tables covered in crisp white linen, with touches of light and dark wood all around - a proper nightclub. The set price dinner (Fridays £26.50, Saturdays £31.50) includes two courses (either a starter and main, or main and dessert), admission, a table until closing time and live entertainment. You can leave your car parked overnight, too, so long as it is collected by 11am the following day.

A characteristic Jazz Café meal might start with mussels cooked in white wine with fresh chillies and garlic, or goat's cheese tart with red onion and mushroom. You could then choose the prime fillet of pork with marsala and juniper, served with cup mushrooms and a rosemary and clove sauce on a bed of noodles, or maybe the prime 6oz Scotch fillet steak with root mash and spiced red wine sauce (£2 supplement, perfect for Atkins fans). Finish your dinner with the chocolate bread and butter pudding, or go for apple and walnut filo pie.

As you would expect, The Jazz Café serves a mammoth variety of libations; in addition to 16 different wines they offer a practically limitless variety of cocktails plus select bottled beers.
